# Hagerling Lab > Research group at Lund University studying organ-specific metastatic cancer using spatial multiomics and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models. ## Research The Hagerling Lab investigates whether the distant metastatic site itself must be considered in cancer treatment and drug development. Using spatial multiomics and PDX models, the lab studies both adult and pediatric metastases to resolve whether metastasis site–specific tumor cell properties and microenvironmental cues hide therapeutic targets. **Research projects:** 1. The Non-Random Metastatic Behavior of Neuroblastoma Reveals Therapeutic Opportunities 2. Spatial Multiomics to Decode and Target the Non-Random Metastatic Behavior of Common Adult Malignancies ## Principal Investigator **Catharina Hagerling, MD, Ph.D** — Associate professor and PI at Lund University. Postdoctoral training at UCSF in Professor Zena Werb's laboratory. Research recognized with the SSMF Starting Grant, VR Starting Grant, Årets Barncancerforskare (2024), and the Translational Prize from the Swedish Medical Society. ## Affiliation Lund University · Department of Clinical Sciences · Division of Oncology and Pathology ## Links - Homepage: https://hagerlinglab.com - Privacy Policy: https://hagerlinglab.com/privacy - Terms of Use: https://hagerlinglab.com/terms
